Job Description: We are seeking an experienced accountant to support our dynamic organization navigate a perpetual drive for growth and improvement. We are specifically focused in the current year on the adoption of more efficient processes across the Organization that will enable and enhance our future success. This role will be the primary point of contact in facilitating reporting and analysis on Construction in Progress and Fixed Assets. This will be a developmental roll with a lot of potential for growth and would be a great fit for someone looking to make the next step in their career. This role will coordinate with the Accounting, Operations and Engineering teams on the cost tracking and reporting for assets under construction and in their completed state. In addition to supporting the construction and maintenance of the Company’s physical assets, this role will be involved in managing the accounting for the Company’s leased assets, prepaid contracts and coordinating with external parties on insurance renewals, property taxes, and audits. The role will have opportunities to expand and take on additional responsibilities within and beyond the scope of the initial position design, particularly as we leverage new systems and embrace the transformation enabled by AI and investments in technology.
Company Overview: Navigator Energy Services is a dynamic midstream crude management company. We have several active construction projects related to building out and maintaining midstream crude assets.
Responsibilities:
· Produce periodic reporting on active projects for various constituents.
· Analyze and explain project reporting nuances.
· Actively engage with the engineering & operations teams on all financial aspects of construction in process and maintenance of existing infrastructure, including purchase orders, reviewing invoicing, cost tracking, and reporting.
· Engage with Engineering team to maintain a thorough understanding of open projects and related spending needs and timing and in-service date.
· Assists in the compilation of monthly financial reports for the leadership team and quarterly reports for the Board of Directors.
· Provide guidance and monitoring on appropriateness of capitalization of costs and Fixed Asset guidance to ensure compliance with GAAP.
· Track leased assets and assist with the application of ASC 842.
· Identifies and suggests process improvements, including implementation of internal controls.
· Prepare documents and information required for the annual audit.
Required Qualifications:
· BA or MS in Accounting or related field
· Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in accounting, preferably in a midstream or construction related industry
· Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
· Initiative and ability to make decisions within guidelines
· Ability to multi-task while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
· Willingness to learn and desire to expand responsibilities
· Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems, Oracle and/or NetSuite experience is beneficial
· Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
