Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and meticulous Accounting professional to join our team. This position will be responsible for handling and reconciling a wide range of financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. The ideal candidate will also be maintaining accurate financial records, processing vendor payments, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable:
- Process and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Handle and reconcile vendor payments, including assuring all payments are made within the specified terms.
- Manage customer invoicing and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collections.
- Monitor and manage cash flow through accurate AP and AR recordkeeping.
- Maintain and update records related to capital expenditures and equipment purchases. Ensure accurate tracking and documentation of all related financial transactions.
Bank Reconciliation and Petty Cash management:
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial records
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found during the reconciliation process.
- Oversee and reconcile the petty cash account, ensuring all transactions are appropriately documented.
- Manage and maintain the loan account, securing payments are made according to schedule and the account is properly reconciled.
General Accounting, Records & Reporting:
- Update and maintain all accounting records to verify financial accuracy and completeness.
- Assure adherence to accounting policies and internal controls.
- Provide management with regular updates and summaries on financial activities.
- Provide weekly reports to management, covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchase orders, bill payments, credit card summaries, and other relevant financial information.
- Prepare ad hoc reports as needed, ensuring they are delivered accurately and on time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience (3 years) in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to provide reports and updates to management.
- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in reconciling discrepancies.
