With proven solutions, award-winning technologies, and a team of expert problem solvers, Navitas has consistently empowered customers to use technology as a competitive advantage and deliver cutting-edge transformative solutions.

What You’ll Do:

As the selected Sr. Business Analyst/Scrum Master you be responsible for bridging the gap between business requirements and technical teams, while also facilitating Agile processes. This hybrid role will involve leading Agile teams as a Scrum Master while working closely with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and define business requirements to ensure the successful delivery of IT projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in both business analysis and Agile project management methodologies, with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Business Analysis:

  • Requirements Gathering: Engage with stakeholders to understand business goals, processes, and pain points. Collect and document both functional and non-functional requirements to ensure the technical team can effectively deliver the desired solutions.
  • Process Mapping: Analyze and document current business processes and workflows. Identify areas for improvement and propose solutions that drive efficiency and alignment with business objectives.
  • Business Case Development: Develop detailed business cases, including feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, and risk assessments, to support project proposals and decision-making.
  • User Stories and Acceptance Criteria: Translate business requirements into clear, concise user stories, ensuring they are well-defined and actionable for the development team. Create detailed acceptance criteria for each story to guide the development and testing process.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate with stakeholders to manage expectations, clarify requirements, and ensure alignment on project goals, priorities, and scope changes.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation, including requirement specifications, process flows, user manuals, and other deliverables that support project delivery and end-user adoption.

Scrum Master:

  • Facilitate Scrum Ceremonies: Lead all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring they are productive, focused, and aligned with Agile principles.
  • Team Coaching and Guidance: Coach and mentor team members on Agile practices, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities in the Scrum framework. Foster a collaborative, self-organizing, and high-performing team environment.
  • Sprint Management: Help the team focus on delivering high-quality, incremental improvements. Ensure that the team stays on track, meets sprint goals, and removes any blockers that may hinder progress.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a bridge between the business stakeholders and development teams, ensuring that business needs are clearly communicated and understood while also managing expectations around timelines and deliverables.
  • Continuous Improvement: Facilitate retrospectives to encourage a culture of continuous improvement. Help the team identify areas for growth, both in process and performance, and implement action items to drive improvements in future sprints.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify risks or impediments that could impact project timelines or quality and work with the team to resolve them quickly. Ensure the team remains focused on meeting project goals and deadlines.
  • Tracking and Reporting: Maintain metrics such as burndown charts, velocity, and progress toward sprint goals. Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders on the team’s progress, issues, and areas of concern.
  • Agile Process Adherence: Ensure that the team adheres to Agile practices, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and maintaining a properly prioritized and refined product backlog.

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience: 5 years of experience in a Business Analyst role and at least 2 years as a Scrum Master, preferably in IT and Agile environments. Experience in both business analysis and Agile project management is required.
  • Agile Expertise: In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum. Certification as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) is strongly preferred.
  • Business Analysis Skills: Experience in gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, including the ability to translate complex business needs into clear user stories and functional specifications.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven experience managing relationships with diverse stakeholders, including business leaders, developers, testers, and project managers. Ability to manage conflicting priorities and expectations while maintaining a positive working environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams, foster collaboration, and drive results in a fast-paced environment. Experience in managing teams through change and delivering results.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Able to identify challenges and find solutions that balance business needs with technical constraints.
  • Project Management: Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Trello, MS Project) and ability to use them for tracking and reporting progress. Experience managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Experience working in cross-functional teams and a collaborative environment, ensuring team alignment, morale, and productivity.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adjusting to changing priorities, deadlines, and business needs.
  • Must be able to pass both a national and state standard background check
