Development Associate

I am currently hiring for a Project Development Associate with an established developer based in the North East, who have an active pipeline of 2GW solar and over 500MW BESS.

A company focused on renewable energy investments works to support sustainable projects that generate energy from natural, eco-friendly sources. Their aim is to foster innovation in clean technologies, helping to transition away from fossil fuels by funding solar, wind, and other green energy initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Oversee project development tasks including site control, permitting, electrical interconnection, and engineering.
• Coordinate and analyse the flow of information pertinent to project development from internal experts and external consultants/vendors.
• Take ownership of project inputs and assumptions, coordinating updates with relevant internal teams.
• Track and manage project progress, risks, opportunities, and financials, providing insightful analysis and risk assessments.
• Lead and/or assist with due diligence processes for acquisitions.
• Handle the negotiation of lease or purchase options and agreements related to site control.

EXPERIENCE

• A strong track record of academic and professional success, excellent communication abilities, and a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within a small team are essential for this role, along with proven organizational skills for managing multiple projects and a high level of motivation.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level.
• Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Demonstrated ability to continuously reassess and prioritize tasks effectively.
• 3-5 years of experience in the energy or renewables sector.
• Project experience with CAISO, PJM, NYISO, or NEPOOL is preferred.

Base salary 100-150k plus 25-30% bonus
