Job Title : Ceph Consultant

Location : New York, NY (Hybrid)

Duration : Contract

Position Summary :

We are seeking a Senior Storage Engineer to assist with the implementation and operation of an on-premise Ceph storage cluster . The ideal candidate will configure Ceph services, monitor performance, and support the expansion of the cluster to accommodate additional use cases.

Responsibilities :

  • Deploy and configure CephFS to support high-performance computing (HPC).
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues in the Ceph file system, clients, and infrastructure .
  • Integrate Ceph storage with existing backup solutions .
  • Assist with the integration of CephFS with HPC compute machines running Linux.
  • Develop documentation for internal administrators and end-users.
  • Analyze research use cases and optimize system performance based on user needs.

Required Qualifications :

  • 1 year of experience with Ceph and CephFS .
  • Strong Linux system administration and performance monitoring skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of networking concepts (OSI model, DNS, firewalls, proxies, load balancing).
  • Familiarity with BGP, VXLAN, Cisco / ARISTA / SONiC platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with C, C , Golang, or Rust is desirable.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and CSI plugins is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Prometheus / Grafana monitoring stack is beneficial.
