Job Title: Director of Infection Prevention
Duration: 13 weeks (extendable)
Location: Manahawkin, NJ
Shift Timing: Flexible, 5 days a week
Pay Range: 75-80$ per hour
Mandatory Requirements:
- Certifications: Certified Infection Control (CIC) certification.
- Software Knowledge: Proficiency in infection prevention software and technologies (e.g., NHSN, CDRSS).
Job Duties:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate the organization's infection prevention program.
- Conduct annual risk assessments and create actionable infection prevention plans.
- Analyze infection data trends, prepare reports, and provide timely feedback to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements, including CMS, NJ DOH, Joint Commission, and CDC standards.
- Lead outbreak investigations, implement control measures, and monitor their effectiveness.
- Oversee hospital-acquired infection surveillance and ensure compliance with NHSN definitions and regulations.
- Collaborate with Occupational Health regarding communicable disease exposures and team member safety.
- Evaluate and maintain infection prevention policies, including those related to sterilization, disinfection, and sanitation.
- Oversee Infection Control Risk Assessments (ICRAs) for construction and renovation projects to mitigate exposure risks.
- Design and deliver educational materials and training for team members, patients, and clinical staff.
- Monitor process and outcome measures to ensure program effectiveness and sustainability.
- Utilize performance improvement methodologies, such as PDSA and FMEA, to drive organizational change.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health, Medical Technology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in infection prevention.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in clinical/patient care services or relevant healthcare roles.
Skills:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and report writing.
- Expertise in infection prevention software (e.g., NHSN, CDRSS) and technologies like Excel and MS Word.
