Job Description:
This non-clinical role focuses on coordinating and supervising the operational functions of Medical Staff Services, including credentialing, privileging, proctorship, and orientation. The Medical Staff Coordinator acts as a resource for the VPMA, Medical Staff, and other stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Technical Requirements:
- Preferred Experience:
- Echo Credentialing software or Healthstream
- Joint Commission-accredited or NCQA-accredited facilities
Required Certifications:
- None required
- Preferred: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) from an accredited institution
Required Education:
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies (Required)
- Associate’s degree in Healthcare (Preferred)
Skills and Essential Functions:
Core Responsibilities:
- Compile credentialing, privileging, and peer review actions for the Board of Director’s Quality Committee.
- Serve as a resource for Department Chairpersons and Credentials Committee members by providing necessary application information.
- Plan, organize, and direct confidential research for initial appointees and recredentialing/reappointment (physicians, dentists, AHPs).
- Oversee the orientation program for new appointees.
- Maintain proctorship review forms, files, and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist the VPMA and Bylaws Committee in maintaining and revising relevant documents.
- Respond to Joint Commission and other surveys, coordinate completion, and develop action plans if necessary.
- Evaluate and revise documents for Joint Commission and other regulatory compliance.
- Utilize the MIDAS database for tracking, reporting, and other functions.
- Support the VPMA, Medical Staff, and other teams with assigned projects.

Scheduling and Orientation:
- Orientation Period: 2 weeks minimum
- Shift Details: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Weekend/Holiday Requirements: None
- RTO Approval: Manager to approve
