Job Title : Operating Room Nurse Coordinator
Location : Seattle, WA
Position Summary :
The Operating Room Nurse Coordinator will oversee the daily operations of the surgical services department, ensuring the highest quality of care, patient safety, and efficient workflow in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. The role combines leadership, clinical expertise, and administrative acumen to support the surgical team and maintain optimal operating room performance.
Responsibilities :
Supervise and support a team of operating room nurses and surgical staff.
Develop schedules, allocate resources, and monitor staff performance.
Foster effective communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams.
Coordinate surgical schedules, equipment availability, and staffing to ensure timely surgical procedures.
Manage inventory and ensure the availability of surgical instruments, supplies, and other resources.
Monitor compliance with evidence-based guidelines, infection prevention protocols, and safety standards.
Investigate incidents, assess risks, and lead quality improvement initiatives.
Plan and implement educational opportunities for operating room staff.
Education :
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience :
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in perioperative nursing or surgical services.
Prior leadership or management experience is highly desirable.
Certifications :
Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) preferred or must be eligible to obtain.
BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
