Position: Patient Access Representative
Location: The Woodlands, TX 77380
Duration: 03 Months with possible extension
Shift timing: 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM | M-F
Required Experience: Cashier / Customer Service, Credit Card Handling, Front Office Operations, Health Insurance Verification
Languages: Bilingual (English & Spanish)
Pay rate: $18 – 20/hr. on W2
Job Description:
- Greet and assist patients, visitors, and guests in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform patient registration, check-in, and check-out processes accurately
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, obtaining pre-authorizations when necessary
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances; handle cash and credit card transactions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the system
- Provide general front office support, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow
- Respond to patient inquiries and resolve concerns or escalate as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all confidentiality standards
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming front office environment
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience:
- 3 – 4 years of experience in a medical front office or patient access role
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to use a 10-key by touch
- Strong background in cashiering and customer service
- Experience handling credit card transactions
- Knowledge of front office operations in a healthcare setting
- Demonstrated experience with health insurance verification
- Nice to have: EPIC, EMR
Language:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (Required)
