Job Title: Patient Care Associate (PCA) - Acute Psychiatric Unit
Duties:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver patient-centered care in an acute psychiatric unit.
- Support admissions by orienting patients to the unit and addressing initial care needs.
- Perform clinical tasks, including vital signs, EKGs, venipuncture, and specimen handling.
- Assist with therapeutic interventions, including group and recreational activities.
- Manage patient safety by performing observation rounds and intervening in crises.
- Facilitate discharge planning, ensuring appropriate coordination with family and community resources.
Skills Required:
- Background in mental health care, counseling, or related fields.
- Proficiency in basic clinical procedures, including EKGs and infection control practices.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience OR an Associate’s degree in a mental health-related focus.
- BLS and CPI certifications required.
Pay Range:
- Weekly: $1,150 - $1,400
