Registered Nurse – Cardiac Step-Down Nurse
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with experience in telemetry, step-down, or cardiac care units.
- ACLS and BLS certification required; CCRN preferred.
- Knowledge of post-cardiac surgery recovery, heart failure management, and rhythm monitoring.
- Strong understanding of cardiac medications, including drips and anticoagulants.
Duties:
- Care for post-cardiac surgery and post-myocardial infarction patients.
- Monitor heart rhythms and oxygenation levels using telemetry.
- Titrate cardiac medications and manage chest tubes or pacemakers.
- Educate patients on lifestyle changes and medication adherence.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, respiratory therapists, and rehabilitation teams.
- Ensure patient safety through early recognition of complications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of cardiac assessments and interventions.
