Job Title: RN Interventional Radiology
Location: Houston, TX
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM (with on-call requirement of 10–12 days per month)
Duration: 13 week contract (Extendable)
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assess patients for cardiac catheterization, neurovascular interventions, and perfusion procedures.
- Assist with diagnostic and interventional procedures (e.g., strokes, embolizations, coiling, and stenting).
- Administer and monitor sedation and medications, ensuring patient safety.
- Continuously monitor and document vital signs, hemodynamic status, and neurological function.
- Provide post-procedure recovery care, including assessing for complications.
- Operate and troubleshoot specialized equipment, including fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring systems, and contrast injectors.
- Respond to emergency situations such as contrast reactions, arrhythmias, and neurological changes.
- Assist with Neuro IR procedures, including stroke interventions, embolizations, and diagnostic imaging.
- Work closely with cardiologists, neuro interventional radiologists, perfusionists, and surgical teams.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control, radiation safety, and sterile field protocols.
- Document patient care in electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure accurate charge capture.
- Educate patients and families on pre/post-procedure care and follow-up instructions.
Experience:
- 2 years of experience in Neuro Critical Care, Neuro IR, Cath Lab, or Interventional Radiology.
- Technical Skills (Must-Have):
- Neuro Critical Care, Neuro IR, Strokes, Embolizations, Coiling, Stents.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Active RN License (Texas or Compact State).
- BLS & ACLS (American Heart Association).
