Job Title : Service Desk 1

Location : Columbus, OH

Duration : 6 Months

Job Description :

The Service Desk 1 position is responsible for providing technical support within the central 270 beltway area of Columbus, OH. This role involves troubleshooting networking and software issues, deploying hardware / software, providing deskside support, and maintaining documentation. The Service Desk team ensures the functionality of infrastructure and software, delivering exceptional customer service while performing tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities :

  • 75% : Troubleshoot and resolve networking and software issues, update tickets, deploy / install hardware / software, imaging, and reformat systems.
  • 20% : Maintain and document procedures, load and validate software, test, and provide support for application software.
  • 5% : Perform other related duties as required.

Equipment Used :

  • Personal computers, servers, network components, telephones, printers, switches / routers, SANs, etc.
  • Work Conditions :

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Onsite rotation (1-2 weeks) with 8-hour shifts from 7 : 30 AM to 6 : 00 PM.
  • On-call rotation for 24x7x365 support operations.
  • Project work may require off-hours (5 PM–11 PM).
  • Requirements : Mandatory :

    Active CompTIA A certification.

  • Local to Columbus, OH.
  • Technical institute degree / certificate in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 18 months combined IT support experience, including at least 12 months of related work experience.
  • Preferred :

    2 years of experience with PC-based applications, network print management, and tools like ServiceNow, Remedy, or Altiris.

  • Knowledge of IT identity management, security processes, and experience with configuring / upgrading ERP client-based applications (e.g., AX, .NET, DocuSign).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • ADA Requirements :

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work from a step ladder.
  • Provide technical support to ensure infrastructure and software functionality.
  • Maintain documentation and deliver excellent customer service.
