Duties
This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a Mechanical Engineer (0830-series), an Electrical Engineer (0850-series) or an Electronics Engineer (0855-series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-4 pay band (GS-12 and GS-13 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer providing subject matter expertise or program management utilizing extensive technical knowledge in the area of systems engineering.

To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Duties
- You will perform a variety of tasks in the support of systems engineering and acquisition of Towed and Hull Array systems onsite at Lockheed Martin Syracuse representing PMS 401, Submarine Acoustic Systems.
- You will serve as a recognized authority and expert consultant on Towed and Hull sensor systems and development, Towed Array Production, Next Generation towed systems, acoustic transducers/hydrophones, and DoD acquisition.
- You will serve as a recognized authority and expert consultant on Service Cost Centers, systems engineering, test and evaluation, risk management, and program management.
- You will establish, oversee, and control technical milestones, schedules, contracts, budgets and costs to ensure project success, and adapts technical requirements and plans to meet evolving sponsor or programmatic needs.
- You will represent the activity on high-level committees and groups, and is recognized as a subject matter expert for assigned systems at the onsite activity.
- You will work as a leader of a team of engineers, managers, and acquisition specialists.
- You will support systems engineering efforts through the development of towed systems technical requirements, and through the development of specifications for towed and hull array performance.
