Come work for us as a FEDERAL EMPLOYEE, and help support our mission by providing customers with quality goods and services at a savings and to support quality of life programs for active duty military, retirees, reservists and their families!Job Summary : Performs various duties involving the maintenance and operation of vending money changing machines etc. in a specifically designated area.Duties and Responsibilities : Utilizes various hand operated dollies and carts to load and unload stockroom and various vending machines at assigned location. Requisitions additional vending merchandise to ensure an in-stock position at the location at all times. Rotates merchandise on a first in first out basis to ensure the freshest inventory is available. Receives and verifies various vending merchandise deliveries and stocks and secures merchandise. Maintains Exchange owned machines daily in an assigned location. Inspects replenishes with hot cold foods and or beverages i.e. sandwiches cakes pies popcorn salads fruits pastry sodas beers yogurt laundry detergent etc. Checks refrigerated machines to ensure health codes are adhered to i.e. expiration dates of yogurt sandwiches etc. and that foods are not spoiled removes aged foods or other merchandise from machines. Prepares Merchandise Transfer for amount of sandwiches salads required and forwards to Department K4 for processing. May assist in preparing vending items such as sandwiches jello salads etc. Sets up and maintains prices in machine on items being sold maintains a current price list. Communicates daily or more frequently to supervisor with location requests and complaints. Assists in relocating and installing new machines at location cleans interior and exteriors using appropriate cleaning solutions. Makes settings and adjustments on food dispensing liquid dispensing and coin changer units changes records of juke boxes monthly and removes cash weekly. Prepares Cash Collection Slip. Collects monies from vending machines at locations according to established schedule. As required accompanies vending contractors verifying cash taken from vendor owned machines. Also collects cash from car wash soap bleach and other miscellaneous items sold by machine. Prepares Vending Machine Cash Collection Slip by date type of machine number of machine name of attendant and cash meter readings. Clears coin jams and makes refunds at designated locations. Transfers daily vending collections to a designated employee for processing and verification. Makes changes as necessary. Receives and verifies various vending merchandise deliveries and stocks and secures merchandise. Responsible for assigned permanent change fund and verifies daily. Maintains vending machines stockroom and handling equipment in accordance with established procedures and BUMED guidelines. Maintains liaison with location management and customers to develop a positive customer relations atmosphere. Carries out policy of courtesy and service. Performs other related duties as assignedThis position is covered by American Federation of Government Employees, Local 3723 Union AgreementGENERAL EXPERIENCE 12 months of experience that provided the applicant with knowledge and skill to perform various duties involving the maintenance and operation of vending money changing machines etc.SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for 12 months of experience.
