Overview
To manage, plan and control the Investment Services operations of Navy Federal Financial Groups' (NFFG) affiliate Navy Federal Investment Services (NFIS) for designated geographic areas and distribution channels. To ensure optimum fiduciary management of client assets, maximum revenue growth and client satisfaction while meeting Navy Federal, NFFG and subsidiary standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manages the operations of Investment services operations to include NFFG affiliate Field Advisors while meeting NFFG and subsidiary, industry, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Manages and controls the functions of a geographic Investment Services distribution channel operation to ensure business development and retention activities and transactions are timely, accurately sourced / completed to achieve revenue growth while maintaining maximum client / member satisfaction
Oversees NFFG inbound / outbound business development and retention performance, servicing and related marketing activitiesConducts site visits to monitor business progress, financial planning process reviews and resolves operation and / or compliance issuesManages business development activities for NFFG FAs to include, but not limited to : pipeline, member acquisition, marketing, seminars, call list tracking etc.Researches and conducts due diligence and review of new and existing productsDevelops member acquisition guidelines and best practices for product usage, geographic member penetration strategies, and communicates changes to staffLeads member satisfaction efforts by regularly monitoring survey data, membership communications to management / field staff, and researching / developing effective and timely / appropriate responses / solutions to member service inquiries and concernsBuilds productive and collaborative relationships with appropriate NFCU Branch Operations (regional and branch) and Credit Union Channels to increase support of NFFG business development effortsDevelops, analyzes and reports summary statistics on member acquisition and processing efficiency performance against strategic business and growth plans for senior management assessmentPromotes business development ideas and training throughout the NFFG organizationManages NFIS Financial Planning Supervision and regulatory oversight of field production.Acts as primary Supervisory Principal for registered representatives by approving new accounts, trades and processing activities
Assists operation / compliance departments in monitoring NFIS registered / licensed representatives' and compliance with NFIS policies / procedures and industry regulationsRemains current on changes within the legal, regulatory, economic, competitive and technological environments affecting trust, financial planning services and product offeringsParticipates and collaborates with internal and external regulatory audits by FINRA, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) etc. and ensures all account acquisition processes and policies to include documentation of client suitability and account records meet regulatory compliance requirementsAssists the Assistant Vice President, Advisory Services with developing long and short-term service projections, strategic planning and new (or enhanced) product development.Provides budget projections and planning inclusive of revenue and expense management
Participates in field opportunities to identify and recommend new products, servicing tools (technology) and services for NFFG senior management review and approvalDevelops revenue growth plans for advisory force; reviews production performance of new and existing licensed representativesAligns regional / individual revenue goals with NFFG revenue strategic growth initiatives to ensure optimum financial growth and client satisfactionDevelops statistical reports reflecting market environment, product growth potential, service needs assessment, service quality / improvement, effectiveness of current processes and procedures of field offices and staffPerforms management duties :Selects employees; sets performance standards and expectations; conducts performance appraisals and counseling; and training and development
Provides management support to address and ensure timely resolution of client / Advisor concerns / issuesAnalyzes geographic areas, researches market penetration opportunities and recommends realignment and / or new Financial Advisor placementPerforms all supervisory responsibilities consistent with requirements of the office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other applicable regulatory agencies relevant to broker / dealers, registered investment advisory firms, trust services and Navy Federal Policies and proceduresDevelops guidelines, goals, and priorities for the Branch to ensure desired goals and results align with Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO), its subsidiaries and corporate strategiesEvaluates budget requirements, report variances and recommend adjustments to budget that support business needs and goalsPromotes professional growth, development and skills retention through mentoring, continuing education and cross training opportunitiesMonitors staff productivity to identify problem areas and determine remedial and / or additional trainingEnsures full compliance with all applicable statutory requirements, policies, procedures, rules, regulations, etc.Develops effective team building programs, trust, communications and employee relationships to increase production, motivate and retain staffPractices effective pay and rewards management in accordance with Navy Federal objectives and guidelinesPerforms other related duties as assigned or appropriate.Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of Investment Advisory and broker / dealer operations and related FINRA, NASAA and SEC etc. regulations governing operations and fiduciary responsibilitiesPrevious experience in a leadership position in the financial industry, preferably managing registered representativesProven experience producing results, achieving business objectives and making sound judgment and decisionsExperience with business development and incentive plan design and achieving plan objectivesExperience with educational and training programs of a business development organizationWillingness to pursue CFP, ChFC, or CLU or other relevant industry designation after one year of successful employmentProficiency with PC applications software tools e.g. spreadsheet, database, processing applications, and financial analysis tools.Life / Health Insurance LicenseFINRA Registration : Series 7, 24, 63, 65 / 66 minimum. Ability to obtain Series 53 within 120daysWillingness to pursue CFP, ChFC, or CLU or other relevant industry designation after one year of successful employmentExperience demonstrating effective negotiation, motivation and persuasion skills with all levels of management, staff and clientsStrong research, analytical, and problem solving skillsHighly effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skillsEffective presentation skills to communicate clear and concise reports, analyses and conclusionsBachelor's Degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of education, training, and / or experienceDesired Qualifications
