Navy Mutual is Looking for a Talented BI Developer to Join Our Team!

Navy Mutual is seeing a Senior Business Intelligence Developer with a specialization in AWS QuickSight, SQL, and data validation for scalable, customer-centric data product creation and management.

This critical role will lead BI solution design, development, and maintenance, focusing on reusable dashboards and reports that meet stakeholder needs. Our ideal candidate will be an expert in data set creation, visualization design, and quality assurance within a lake house architecture. Proficient in Agile methodologies with a commitment to continuous learning and implementing advanced analytical technologies to deliver value to stakeholders

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Lead enterprise BI development using a customer-focused data product approach
  • Develop comprehensive dashboards and reports from conception to production, including requirements gathering, UI / UX design, SQL query development, data and access security, thorough data validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and final deployment to production
  • Construct and optimize complex SQL queries for scalable data set analysis
  • Ensure data quality, validation, and security across BI solutions, building trust in data integrity
  • Transform diverse data sets into cohesive, reusable data products
  • Provide technical leadership in AWS QuickSight and other analytical tools
  • Contribute to data architecture design with a product-centric approach
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and manage data product-related tasks in Jira
  • Stay current with BI trends and technologies, particularly in data product management
  • Provide timely updates to stakeholders regarding dashboard status, including data refreshes, outages, and significant changes
  • Promptly respond to stakeholder inquiries and requests with clear and actionable insights
  • Manage BI user security and access controls

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (min 3 years) work experience in BI development role
  • 5 years of proven BI developer experience with data product focus
  • AWS and or other BI certification(s) - TDWIs CBIP, AWS Data Analytics, Database, Data Engineer, Machine Learning
  • Advanced AWS QuickSight development and customer-centric data product creation skills
  • Expert-level SQL and complex query building and optimization abilities
  • Proficiency in AWS and other cloud-based analytical and data movement tools (AWS Glue, AWS DMS, DataBricks)
  • Experience and understanding of relational and non-relational databases (MYSQL, MS SQL, AWS RDS, NoSQL DBs)
  • Strong communication skills for conveying complex data concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to implement new AWS / cloud data analytical services
  • Proven expertise in leveraging JIRA for comprehensive project management, including user story creation, task tracking, and sprint planning with strong proficiency in Agile methodologies focused on delivering stakeholder value through effective demos and reporting
  • Strong grasp of data governance principles in product development
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential stakeholder needs
  • Commitment to continuous learning and innovation in BI and data product trends
