Major Duties
- Provides customer support services including the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance and training to support department requirements.
- Troubleshoots, investigates and analyzes actual or potential complex problems in system software, applications software interfacing, and/or IT equipment to isolate causes of malfunctions.
- Trains new users on new or modified operating systems, IT equipment, software, and the application of information assurance/security policies and guidelines.
- Develops plans for installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining user IT equipment, software and the application of information assurance/ security policies and guidelines.
- Develops plans for installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining user IT equipment and software.
- Accomplishes a variety of administrative IT management processes related to department IT equipment to ensure all offices have access to state-of-the-art equipment.
- Conducts system administration assessments and may recommend IT action pertinent to required support.
- Recommends software procedures for use by the operations staff and identifies and recommends standards and criteria for assessing system performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Must possess or obtain and maintain (within 6 months of employment) a Security or higher certification, in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Technical, Level II technicians.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of professional hands-on systems and network experience in the administration and troubleshooting of Microsoft platforms (Windows 7, 8, and 10) Microsoft Office Suite applications and PC-class hardware systems.
- Must have professional experience in analyzing, planning, testing, modifying, engineering, and implementing new software, hardware, and network solutions.
- Must be able to meet all applicable government requirements, including appropriate background investigations, for access to and administration of government information systems.
- Must be able to manage the day-to-day administrative duties associated with a busy information technology office.
- Must be able to lift, move and install hardware and other IT equipment items and devices.
