Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.

Duties
- Performs rescue work, promptly renders CPR or emergency first aid and calls for medical assistance as necessary
- Supervises swimmers for safety and crowd control
- Enforces safety and pool regulations
- Promptly reports safety hazards to supervisor
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the buildings and grounds in the pool area
- Responsible for testing chemical levels
- Provides instruction to youth and adults in incremental swim lessons/lifeguarding/CPR courses
- May assist with scheduled pool parties, after hours of operation or with base wide special events
- Schedule includes evenings and weekends
- Other duties as assigned

- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Must be a responsible individual with a pleasant, courteous attitude who can communicate effectively with the public.
- A neat and clean appearance required.
- Incumbent will need to acquire a basic knowledge of the rules and practices of the equipment used.
- Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required.
- This position may require the incumbent to be available to work special events, weekends and holidays.
- Must possess a valid lifeguarding certification from a recognized agency or obtain it within 30 days of hire.
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing.
- Must be knowledgeable of emergency water safety procedures.
- Performs housekeeping tasks for proper standards of cleanliness, free from hazards, sanitation and appearance of pool and related facilities.
- Must pass initial and annual swim test demonstrating ability to perform the work.
- Ability to perform the full range of lifeguarding duties.
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
- Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50lbs independently and objects over 50lbs with assistance, while performing normal duties in the area.
