We are seeking a dedicated General Maintenance technician to join our team in the Flint area!
Full-time opening- General Maintenance:
- Monday-Friday 6:30am-3pm & available for emergency calls after hours (school environment)
Pay rate: $17/hr.
Responsibilities:
- Performs all tasks following industry best practices, OSHA safe work standards, and in compliance with applicable codes
- Works from manufacturer’s operating manuals and applies knowledge of equipment to devise appropriate repairs for each work order. May confer with service representatives and others as necessary to accomplish installations or repairs
- Records problems, actions taken to resolve problems, along with parts and material details on work orders
- Completes assigned scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and tests on assigned equipment and systems
- Completes repairs and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring all problems have been addressed and corrected, permitting the equipment to operate as efficiently and economically as possible
- Safely uses a variety of hand and power tools, gauges, testing equipment, materials, and supplies
- Creates and maintains effective working relationships with account staff and management.
Requirements:
- Great attendance!
- Valid driver's license, car to drive during shift, and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test, in addition to being fingerprinted to work in the schools
- 18 years of age or older with valid ID
- Ability to read, comprehend, and transmit complicated and detailed instructions in order to plan and perform job duties
- Must possess sufficient analytical abilities to diagnose and correct operating problems and perform necessary repairs
- Ability to operate power tools and equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Have your own power tools (drill, impact gun, bits, measuring tape)
- Can read a tape measure
- Ability to lift and move furniture
- Ability to stand on feet for entire shift
