Job Title: Database Administrator
Contract Position: Data Strategy and Management
Pay Rate: Max $80.00/HR on W2
Contract Term: Until 6/30/2027
1. Purpose
The Database Administrator (DBA) will provide support for database administration, maintenance, development, and optimization of database systems. The DBA will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the database systems, including data design, storage management, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and resolving errors. This role will also involve creating and testing database code to ensure system functionality as per specified requirements.
2. Term of Employment
This is a contract position with a project term lasting until 6/30/2027.
3. Criminal Background Screening
A criminal history check, including fingerprinting, will be conducted on the consultant prior to the commencement of work. The organization reserves the right to disqualify candidates based on the results.
4. Contractor Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- 9 years of experience with Oracle products, including Oracle Database Server, Oracle Application Server, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Grid Control, Oracle Advanced Security, Oracle Standby databases, and Oracle Recovery Manager.
- 9 years of experience as an Oracle database administrator, including data design/modeling, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- 9 years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL programming.
- 9 years of experience with data storage organization and controlled access to data.
- 9 years of experience with Oracle relational databases, On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP), and Decision Support Systems (DSS).
- 9 years of experience managing internal and vendor-supplied source code throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- 9 years of experience with MS SQL products, including MS SQL Server.
- 9 years of experience with T-SQL programming, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, DTS packages, scheduled jobs, and linked servers.
- 9 years of experience as an MS SQL administrator, including data design/modeling, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- 9 years of experience with SQL relational databases, OLTP, and DSS.
- 9 years of experience in web application server system administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- 9 years of experience with enterprise applications like Versa Regulation and Versa Online.
- 5 years of experience in Enterprise Platform-related change management, including code management and promotion in partnership with development teams.
- 3 years of experience in container and orchestration technologies administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- 3 years of experience with Continuous Deployment/Continuous Integration (CD/CI) delivery pipelines.
- 3 years of experience with process automation using Python (version 2 or greater).
- 3 years of experience with process automation using PowerShell (version 5.1 or greater).
- 3 years of experience with version control management tools (e.g., GIT).
- 3 years of experience with agile development using the SCRUM framework.
- 3 years of experience with service incident reporting using multiple concurrent systems.
5. Contractor Responsibilities
The Database Administrator will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Provide database administration services, including data design, modeling, monitoring, performance tuning, and PL/SQL programming, as specified in the assigned work tickets.
- Troubleshoot and document resolutions to system errors as specified in work tickets.
- Create and test database code to perform system functions as per enhancement tickets.
- Provide regular reports, analytical research, and communications to management, as per work ticket specifications.
6. Data Security and Confidentiality
The contractor, their employees, subcontractors, and agents must comply with all data security procedures and policies as specified by the organization in the attached Data Security and Confidentiality document.
7. Contractor Travel Reimbursement
Reimbursement for travel expenses will only be authorized when pre-approved
