The freelance fantasy content creator will be responsible for providing original digital content on news and events for multiple sports, including but not limited to the NBA and the WNBA.

Job Description

The freelance fantasy content creator will be responsible for providing original digital content on news and events for multiple sports, including but not limited to the NBA and the WNBA.
Responsibilities
- Write original and insightful posts on all of the key news and events of the day
- Produce informative, timely, and concise fantasy analysis on breaking news, injuries, transactions, and game results
- Provide fantasy analysis for video, both for live streams and video on demand
- Brainstorm and pitch creative approaches to content and coverage of key events
- Work closely with additional NBC Sports writers and contributors on the site to ensure near around-the-clock coverage
Basic Requirements:
- Strong editorial judgment and engagement with multiple sports properties
- Minimum one year experience in a sports writing capacity
- Familiarity with and experience in fantasy sports writing
- Comfortable with using fantasy terminology in copy
- Excellent writing skills (submission of writing samples required)
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, to meet deadlines, and multi-task
- Ability to follow major storylines across multiple sports and create clearly-written, editorially sound and user-friendly content around those storylines
- Strong comfort level with video and audio editorial presentation
- Strong editorial sensibilities and news judgment, and ability to assess sources for accuracy and context
- Familiarity with AP style with the ability to create clean, accurate and original copy
- Team player who is comfortable working with an editor
- Comfort with sports research/statistics sources and methods
- Familiarity with HTML and/or web-authoring tools and software
