Job Description
NBC News Digital is looking for an Assistant Video Editor to join its digital video production unit. The ideal candidate should have a wide technical fluency, aptitude for growth and be able to juggle multiple priorities and workstreams throughout the day. They should have a passion for storytelling, familiarity of the growing digital content creation landscape and be comfortable working in a multi-platform digital production environment. They will assist a team of video editors, graphics artists, operations staff and producers in the daily production of a variety of content to support NBC News’ digital video productions' efforts. They should be passionate about news and storytelling and should be ready for a face-paced environment.

Job Duties
- Ingest and prepare media, including transcoding, organizing and syncing footage
- Perform basic video editing tasks; radio cuts, lifts, trims, reframes, versioning, social promos, and take on more straight-forward edit assignments
- Provide technical and operational support to editors as needed
- Prepare video content for distribution to partners and affiliates
- Manage and archive completed projects
- Help maintain templated project files, supporting documentation, and media libraries
- Manage multiple projects and communication between stakeholders, simultaneously, with tight deadlines
