Job Description
The Producer Booker is responsible for finding, booking, and producing the most compelling news segments.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for finding guests for Noticias Telemundo AHORA shows.
- Research and produce live segments, including writing editorially strong questions.
- Responsible for pitching, booking, and preparing information for the development of interview segments.
- Develops and maintains relationships with a list of subject matter experts for various topics (i.e., terrorism, security, health, etc.).
- Develops relationships with Talent agents, Managers, Publicists, Community, and political organizations and maintains an updated list of contacts.
- Collaborates with the Assignment Editors, Managers, and Executive Producers on planning stories for events.
- Proposes list of potential interviews for breaking news events.
- Works under the direct supervision of the General Producer and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Able to work under pressure in a Newsroom
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar Booker/Researcher role within a News organization.
- Prior experience coordinating or managing satellite bookings.
- Proven solid writing skills and editorial judgment and journalistic ethics.
- General computer skills: Microsoft Office, iNews and Avid MediaCentral
- Must be fully fluent in Spanish and English both written and verbal.
