This position is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in the field of library science.
Working alongside NBME's librarian, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to- day operations of our
library. This immersive internship will expose you to a wide range of responsibilities, allowing you
to engage with multiple aspects of the profession and enabling you to develop a diverse skill set.
By participating in various aspects of librarianship, you will gain practical insights, refine your
problem-solving abilities, and develop a comprehensive understanding of how a library operates,
especially remotely and digitally. This internship not only serves as an educational platform but
also as an invaluable experience that will help you build a solid foundation for a future career in
library science.

Currently enrolled in or plan to enroll in library science or related program (see majors below):

Responsibilities
- Providing virtual reference and research assistance to library patrons.
- Assisting in cataloging, organizing, and maintaining digital collections.
- Supporting the development of online tutorials and resources.
- Assisting with administrative duties such as data entry, record-keeping, and scheduling.
- Helping manage and curate digital resources, including e-books, databases, and online archives
Currently enrolled in or plan to enroll in library science or related program (see majors below):
- Business- Economics and Data Science,
- Comp. Science - Data Science, Informatics, Information Technology, Information Systems
- Education - Elementary Education, Ed., Learning, Culture, and Technology,
- Arts & Sci. - English
- Strong passion for libraries and information services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital research tools and library systems is a plus.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
