About the Role

As Vice President of Operations for NBW in Cleveland, OH, you will be a key executive team member, responsible for the efficient and effective execution of all operational aspects of the business. You will lead a team of dedicated professionals, ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality services, optimizing operational processes, and driving continuous improvement across all operational functions.

Key Responsibilities :

Operational Leadership :

  • Strategic Planning : Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company's overall strategic goals, ensuring efficient resource allocation, optimized processes, and continuous improvement.
  • Operational Excellence : Drive a culture of operational excellence, focusing on efficiency, effectiveness, and quality in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Process Management : Design, implement, and continuously improve operational processes, ensuring streamlined workflows, minimized waste, and maximize productivity.
  • Service Delivery : Oversee all aspects of service delivery, including installation, maintenance, and repair, ensuring high-quality execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Performance Management : Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all operational functions, ensuring accountability and driving continuous improvement.

Team Leadership :

  • Team Management : Lead and motivate a team of operations professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Talent Development : Identify and develop talent within the operations team, ensuring a pipeline of skilled professionals to meet future needs.
  • Communication and Collaboration : Effectively communicate with other departments, including sales, marketing, and finance, to ensure seamless collaboration and alignment of operational activities.
  • Direct Oversight : Provide direct leadership and oversight to the following operational teams :
  • Pipefitters : Ensure the skilled and efficient installation and repair of piping systems within boiler systems.

  • Boilermakers : Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of boiler components and systems.
  • Project Managers : Guide project planning, execution, and completion, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery of projects.
  • Draftsmen : Supervise the creation of technical drawings and blueprints for boiler systems and related infrastructure.
  • Maintenance Shop : Manage the maintenance and repair of company equipment, tools, and vehicles, ensuring optimal operational readiness.
  • Specialty Services : Lead the provision of specialized services.
  • Innovation and Improvement :

  • Technology Implementation : Identify and implement new technologies to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and customer experience.
  • Process Optimization : Continuously evaluate and optimize operational processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
  • Cost Management : Develop and implement cost-effective strategies to optimize resource utilization, minimize expenses, and maximize profitability.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Organizational Leadership, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior operations management role within the boiler industry or a closely related sector. Applicants with industrial boiler construction management experience is a plus.
  • Proven track record of success in driving operational efficiency, improving service delivery, and achieving cost-effective outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes, logistics, and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Passion for the boiler industry and commitment to NBW's mission and values.
