Description Of Work

Reporting to the Administrative Officer(s) at a multi-level custody female correctional facility. Each position will be assigned one of two specific Human Resource roles which include; Time Entry/Payroll, Onboarding, and Leave Administration.

  • Maintaining and Processing: Time Entries, Benefits, ADA claims, Time and Leave Administrator, and others as assigned
  • Following Prison’s Policy and procedures at all times as work environment involves some contact with offenders
  • Assist with Onboarding Processes: Coordinating and Facilitating Interviews; Processing candidates for Hire
  • Assist with Vacancy Reports and Tracking, RTP’s Maintaining confidentiality when performing work and/or resolving personnel issues.
  • Using a personal computer to preform personnel assignments along with filing, clerical duties, and operating office equipment.
  • Prioritizing work to meet scheduled deadlines with specific duties
  • Demonstrating flexibility when non-routine task are assigned. Providing excellent communication skills in verbal and written form.
  • Review completed tasks for accuracy and with attention to detail

Management Preference: Experience processing HR actions in a Human Resource Integrated System.

“As of January 1, 2025, there are new increase adjustments to the state’s pay plans which were approved by the State Human Resources Commission, effective January 1, 2025. The new salary range(s) will be $37,782 - $66,120.”

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits with established working hours of Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and may require working beyond normal work schedule to meet business need.

The Dept. of Adult Correction is responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced after conviction for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes State Prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as the division of Community Supervision. Other divisions include Administration, Compliance & Accreditation, Comprehensive Health Services, Internal Affairs & Intelligence Operations, Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission, and Rehabilitation & Reentry.

About North Carolina Correctional Institution For Women (NCCIW)

North Carolina Correctional Institution for Women, in Raleigh, is the state's primary correctional facility for women. It houses the largest offender population in the state and serves as the support facility for the state's other female prisons. The campus-style facility sits on 30 acres of a 190-acre tract of state land in southeast Raleigh. NCCIW houses offenders of all custody levels and control statuses, including death row, maximum, close, medium, minimum, safe-keepers and youth. It provides the primary medical, mental, and alcohol and chemical dependency treatment for female offenders.

The facility operates a diagnostic center that serves as the point of entry into the prison system for women. Upon arrival, offenders undergo a series of diagnostic evaluations that will determine future prison assignments.
