What are the responsibilities and job description for the QA Training Specialist position at NC Department of Adult Correction?
Description Of Work
The Department is required to provide thousands of hours of training to its nearly 20,000 employees annually. The burden of delivery falls with two separate entities: (1) OSDT for Basic Training and some In-Service (2) Division level, such as DOI or DCS augmented by Community Colleges across the state. The QA Training Specialist position will ensure consistency in the delivery of the required curriculums on a statewide basis and thus will assist in the development and managing the Strategic Plan for the Office of Staff Development & Training (OSDT).
OSDT is also accredited through the American Correctional Association. This position will assist the Strategic Assistant to the Director to maintain all standards of ACA in PowerDMS and maintain OSDT policies in PowerDMS. This position will also assist in the management, review, and update of OSDT policies and procedures in accordance with Federal, State Law, Administrative Code, State Policy, and DAC policy.
This position plays a vital role in the core operations of the Department of Adult Correction, directly impacting the effectiveness of its functions. Therefore, the individual in this role must follow the established policies and standard operating procedures that govern field-based positions and that of an essential purpose identified by the Office of Staff Development and Training (OSDT). Adhering to these guidelines ensures that the specific requirements of the agency are met and that the overall mission is effectively supported.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits .
As of January 1, 2025, there are new increase adjustments to the state's pay plans which were approved by the State Human Resources Commission, effective January 1, 2025. The new salary range will be $45,926 – $80,369.
Note to Current State Employees: State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.
