The Challenge
We are hiring an Administrative Associate II to join our Right of Way Negotiating team in our Winston-Salem office.
In this role, you will:
- Perform office assistant tasks supporting administrative, program, and technical operations.
- Assist our Administrative Specialists in clerical work supporting our Right of Way team.
- Coordinate inspection, abatement, and demolition of structures on properties acquired by NCDOT for construction of transportation improvements.
- Process invoices for private consulting firms acquiring Right of Ways on behalf of NCDOT.
- Assist with records and accounts receivable for NCDOT-owned properties currently leased by NCDOT.
- Process expense reports and paperwork for tax reimbursement submittals to Raleigh.
- Review, administer, and maintain online databases.
What you Bring
- Customer service experience, including resolving customer issues.
- Computer experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Experience completing and/or maintaining records and reports.
- Experience in record keeping.
- Experience with letter writing.
- Working knowledge of NCDOT Right of Way program services, policies and procedures.
- Ability to pay attention to detail, work closely with others, and good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good general math skills.
- Ability to schedule and coordinate appointments, meetings, and conference calls.
- Ability to demonstrate and apply knowledge in performance of office support tasks.
- Ability to explain and interpret project/program information to the public and staff.
- Working knowledge of data collection, data entry, and storage to compile, assimilate, and organize printed and electronic information.
- Working knowledge of and ability to use correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and proofreading documents.
- Ability to communicate and convey information through a variety of media to individuals or groups.
- Ability to use office equipment and other technology (software and systems) to meet work needs.
- Skills to facilitate the flow of work and coordinate office support activities with other staff.
- Ability to maintain internal and external contacts/communication for work coordination.
Education & Experience
- High school/GED diploma, and
- 1 year of administrative experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
