The Challenge
We are looking for an Administrative Specialist to join our Renewal, Titles, and Plate team in our Rocky Mount headquarters.
In this role you will:
- Provide customer service to the public in all areas of vehicle registration.
- Apply your technical skills to process customer requests using our STARS system.
- Become a master of examining titles, registrations, and identification documents to detect fraud, altered, and suspicious items
- Examine money to ensure that it is authentic.
- Accept payments for services and observe proper money handling procedures.
- Inspect title and registration documents to ensure they are executed in the manner stated in the NC General Statutes, and fees are collected/adjusted accordingly.
- Research and respond to refund requests, title record cancellations, address changes, requests for certified records, real estate/mobile home cancellations, and general questions and correspondence.
What You Bring
- Demonstrated ability to proficiently use correct grammar, spelling, and vocabulary to compose/proofread correspondence.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and explain policies, procedures, and laws.
- Computer experience using desktops and web-based databases.
- Experience reviewing detailed documents and records for accuracy and authenticity.
- Experience recording, compiling, summarizing, analyzing data, and balancing a cash drawer.
Education & Experience
- High school/GED diploma, and
- 2 years of related administrative experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
