POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE Associate Agent
DEPARTMENT Marketing
POSITION REPORTS TO Agent / Agency Manager / District Sales Manager
BASIC FUNCTION Assist Agency Manager and/or Sales Agent(s) with marketing and customer service as it pertains to current and prospective Farm Bureau member policyholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
1. Must obtain NC Property & Casualty insurance licenses within 3 months of hire and attend required training schools. Farm Bureau will pay for pre-licensing courses, related licensing expenses and exams.
2. Must actively solicit, promote, and market NCFB Property/Casualty and Farm Bureau Bank products as well as review existing member’s accounts and complete paperwork required to process rewrites/updates, renewals, and new business.
3. Perform underwriting functions as set forth in the company guidelines as it relates to existing clients with the ability to interpret policy coverage and provisions.
4. Advise and/or counsel clients concerning policy coverage; negotiate, solicit, change coverage and bind additional coverage for clients’ existing policies in conjunction with the agent on record.
5. Schedule appointments as requested by Agent/Agency Manager; maintain a referral and expiration date system for future new business sales opportunities.
5. Abide by all company rules, regulations and procedures for servicing of insurance products, underwriting standards, all of which may be subject to periodic changes by the company.
6. Protect and preserve all proprietary information obtained and in possession including: names, addresses and ages of policyholders of the company, types of policies, amounts of insurance or premiums, expiration or renewal dates of policies, policyholder listings, and policyholder information by computer, print form, or by any other media which are company trade secrets and the sole and exclusive property of the company.
7. Observe and comply with insurance laws and regulations of the State of North Carolina.
8. Provide office support and member service by assisting members, clients, and potential clients when necessary due to staffing shortage and periods of above average activity.
9. Limited travel required for meetings and training.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
