About the Department
North Carolina State University is leading the charge as the recipient of a $39.4 million award from the Department of Defense to establish the regional Microelectronics Commons regional innovation hub, Commercial Leap Ahead for Wide Bandgap Semiconductors (CLAWS) . This initiative aims to revolutionize the field of wide bandgap semiconductors.
The Chief Technical Officer’s key responsibilities will include :
- Identifying, managing, and completing all tasks necessary to establish the Hub at NC State, consistent with governing documents and applicable laws.
- Hiring, organizing, and managing the Hub’s staff.
- Establishing appropriate governance structures and processes to facilitate effective working relationships among all organizations participating in the Hub’s activities.
- Managing the Hub’s day-to-day operations and leading strategic planning and implementation efforts.
- Developing the Hub into the pre-eminent source of research, development, and innovation in WBG semiconductors.
