Key Responsibilities
Teach and advise students in fashion and textile product design and development.
Foster student learning through engaging and innovative instructional methods.
Participate in student recruitment efforts and departmental activities.
Contribute to the initiatives and goals of the Department, the Wilson College of Textiles, and the broader University community.
Minimum Education and Experience
MFA or Ph.D. degree in the discipline from a recognized university.
Other Required Qualifications
Demonstrated teaching experience in fashion design and product development.
Competence in key design and development processes, including :
Pattern making (both digital and manual).
Technical specification creation.
Fit assessment.
Marker making and grading.
Apparel construction.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with students, faculty, staff, and studio / lab environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional expertise in product development.
Skills in industrial production processes, visual communication, and computer-aided design (CAD), including 3D apparel visualization technologies.
Knowledge or experience in textile design.
Valid NC Driver's License required.
