Information Security Analyst

Description

As an IT Security Analyst at NCCER, you will be responsible for protecting the organization’s digital infrastructure by implementing security measures to prevent cyber threats and unauthorized access. Your role involves designing, monitoring, and maintaining security protocols to safeguard sensitive data and ensure the integrity of computer systems and networks.

Major Duties

• Assist with monitoring and responding to security alerts and events from various security tools and technologies. Performs triage and escalates when necessary
• Assist with performing investigations of suspicious events
• Perform analysis of security logs, network traffic, and endpoint data
• Participate in the creation of security documents (policies, standards, baselines, guidelines, playbooks, and procedures)
• Document and report incident findings, actions taken, and lessons learned
• Participate in the planning and design of a business continuity plan and disaster recovery plan
• Participate in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and information security audits
• Ability to administer security controls and configurations for computer hardware, software, and networks.
• Serve as an on-call resource for major information security incidents.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or a relevant field
• CompTIA Security , CC (Certified in Cybersecurity). Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Associate, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or other relevant certification
• 0-2 years of related experience
• Strong work ethic, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
• Self-starter with a collaborative mindset
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing environment
• The position requires occasional after-hours and weekend work.
