On a day-to-day basis, the Project Pavement Engineer plays a vital role in technical and field support for pavement engineering and pavement management projects under the direct supervision of a California Professional Engineer. This can include evaluating pavement conditions, assisting field crews with materials sampling, collecting non-pavement assets, identifying and marking pavement repair and coring locations, producing pavement designs, and assisting with reports. Responsibilities :
- Perform fieldwork, including surveying pavement conditions, completing field quality control, and marking core and repair locations.
- Run pavement design programs and utilize multiple design methods, such as Caltrans and AASHTO.
- Interpret test results and work with colleagues on forensic evaluations.
- Prepare field and pavement design reports.
- Utilize StreetSaver and Paver software for local agency pavement management.
- Prepare pavement management update reports including budget analyses.

Salary Range : $90,000 to $100,000 annually DOE
