North Carolina FC Youth (NCFC Youth) is a non-profit youth soccer organization home to more than 16,000 players (ages 2.5-19) and their families each year. Through full-service programming, NCFC Youth offers youth soccer for all levels of play – from Recreation and outreach programs up to the highest levels of elite competition. In addition, NCFC Youth hosts tournaments, camps, and other events to ensure the best player development opportunities.
NCFC Youth’s on and off field operations are supported by more than 1,700 personnel including full-time staff, seasonal coaches, and volunteer coaches. In collaboration with the professional North Carolina Football Club, home to NC Courage (NWSL) and North Carolina FC (USL Championship), NCFC Youth is the largest youth-to-professional club in the country and offers a pipeline of player development including U-23s, amateur & academy contracts, and professional contracts in addition to coaching development opportunities.

The Position: NCFC Youth Kickstarters program is for players 2½ to 4 years old and provides a fun introduction to the sport. Players learn age-appropriate activities across 6 Saturday morning sessions. The ideal Kickstarters coach has previous playing experience (club, college) and experience with young children (other camps, clinics, babysitting, volunteer work, etc).
Qualifications/Responsibilities:
- Must be at least 16 years old and enjoy working with young children.
- Previous experience working with young children (teaching, camp counselor, clinics, babysitting, volunteer, etc.) preferred.
- Must be energetic, patient, and reliable.
- Must be able to perform a variety of tasks outside in various climates.
- Must be able to enforce health and safety guidelines.
- Must be open to feedback, willing to learn, and able to work closely with other coaches.

- Saturday, April 5 - no session (WCPSS spring break)
- Saturday, April 12
- Saturday, April 19 - no session (Easter weekend)
- Saturday, April 26 - makeup date #1
- Saturday, May 3 - makeup date #2
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old and must enjoy working with young children.
- Must be energetic, patient, responsible, and reliable.
- Must be able to plan, lead and implement soccer activities and fun games in a safe and inclusive environment.
- Must be able to perform a variety of tasks outdoors in various climates.
- Must be able to enforce health and safety guidelines and communicate any concerns
- Must be open to feedback, willing to learn, and able to work closely with other Kickstarters coaches.
- Completion of all new hire paperwork and a SafeSport background check are required prior to the first day of work.
The ideal Kickstarters coach is enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to being present for as many sessions as possible, with the goal of building strong connections with young players. Pay is hourly and varies based on experience. While indicating your availability does not guarantee assignment for all requested dates, scheduling preference is given to coaches who can commit to working all sessions.
