JOB SUMMARY
The Invasive Cardiovascular Technology Specialist plays a vital role in assisting with cardiovascular procedures, specifically in Scrub and Monitoring capacities. This position provides essential support in direct patient care while demonstrating proficiency in coronary and peripheral interventions, electrophysiology studies, and various advanced procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilizes sterile techniques to assist physicians during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and understanding the preparation of invasive devices.
- Observes strict radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Assists in patient care and promptly reports any changes in patient status to the cardiologist and RN.
- Administers medications safely during procedures under physician supervision.
- Ensures proper documentation and monitors patient information before discharging from the procedure room.
- Participates in verification checklists and safety timeouts to enhance procedural safety.
- Maintains accurate and timely records reflecting compliance with hospital and unit standards.
- Monitors and operates imaging and interventional equipment, timely documenting any issues.
- Completes designated patient care assignments within the scheduled shift.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Populates required ACC data for essential registries such as Cath-PCI and ICD.
