JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Service Representative / Scheduler serves as a crucial link in providing quality care. This role involves being the first point of contact for patients, managing scheduling, and ensuring proper insurance verification. With attention to detail, you will gather necessary information to facilitate a seamless patient experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage patient care responsibilities, including checking schedules and organizing patient flow.
- Identify and communicate any changes in patient conditions to clinical staff.
- Gather patient history, including medications and allergies, upon intake.
- Collect essential personal information from new and existing patients for medical record creation.
- Prioritize and enter insurance coverage information accurately.
- Verify and update patient information according to company standards.
- Process consents for treatment and manage necessary documentation.
- Schedule new and follow-up appointments, and coordinate radiological testing procedures.
- Assist patients with preliminary clinical instructions ahead of visits or procedures.
- Collect co-payments and deductibles in accordance with policies.
- Monitor patient wait times and communicate any delays effectively.
- Ensure benefits and eligibility are verified for all scheduled patients.
- Enter charges for services and payment information accurately.
- Prepare daily reports to reconcile charges and payments.
- Act as a liaison between physicians, referral offices, and patients.
- Address inquiries regarding codes and charges, and escalate complex questions as needed.
