What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Pharmacist position at NCHC?
The Opportunity:
As an integral member of the NCHC Pharmacy team, the Clinical Pharmacist is responsible and accountable for the provision of safe, effective, and prompt medication therapy. They provide support of centralized and decentralized medication-use systems as well as deliver optimal medication therapy to patient/clients/residents with a broad range of disease states. Clinical Pharmacist proficiently provides person-centered care and integrated pharmacy operational services in a practice setting with physicians, physician assistants, advance practice nurse, nurses, and other clinical personnel.
This is a full time, on-site role within the hours of 7:30am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Starting pay up to $140,150 annually, based on experience.

What You’ll Do:
- Adheres to scheduled work hours with regular and predictable attendance
- Ensures efficient pharmacy workflow via prioritizing and delegating work assignments and verification of technical/support staff work
- Supervises and provides direction to technical/support staff
- Medication order verification, medication profile review, drug utilization review and other services consistent with pharmaceutical practice
- Provides consultant services which foster appropriate evidence-based medication selection and/or review, as mandated by facility/unit type (Pharm D)
- Collaborates with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate the quality, and effectiveness of drugs and drug regimens, providing advice on drug application and characteristics
- Provide drug information and literature-based research as required
- Develop and initiate collaborative practice agreements with physicians as required to improve patient outcomes
- Assists in the design, implementation, and evaluation of innovative methodologies of drug and other pharmaceutical product acquisition, storage, distribution, monitoring and evaluation
- Collaborates in the identification and development of revenue-generating opportunities for NCHC Pharmacy
- Ensures accurate billing process are maintained
- Works with Manager of Pharmacy Services in developing policies and procedures necessary for orderly operation of NCHC Pharmacy
- Knowledge and principles of pharmaceutical practices, including current Federal and State regulations
- Complies with State and Federal regulations with regards to record maintenance of pharmacy files, patient profiles, and pharmaceutical inventories (including contingency)
- Provides in-service education as needed, serves on committees as assigned
- Maintains professional development and current CE credits for licensure
What You Bring:
- Bachelor of Science-Pharmacy (BScPhm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy
- Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Wisconsin, adhering to the requirements of the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board (WI Stat § 450.03 (1))
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred minimum 1 year of clinical pharmacy experience and/or Completion of PGY-1/PGY-2 Pharmacy Clinical Residency
