The Opportunity:

The Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive training programs aimed at enhancing employee skills, fostering professional growth, and ensuring the highest quality of care in our health services. This role involves collaborating with various departments to identify training needs, developing customized learning solutions, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the organization.

The pay range for this role is $61,000 - $67,000, based on education and experience.  This is a full time, in-person position.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, develop, and implement training programs and workshops tailored to meet the needs of employees across various departments within North Central Health Care.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of training needs by collaborating with managers, supervisors, and staff to identify skill gaps and opportunities for development.
  • Create and deliver engaging, interactive, and effective learning solutions, including in-person and online courses, e-learning modules, and workshops.
  • Promote professional growth and employee engagement by facilitating ongoing learning opportunities and career development plans for staff at all levels.
  • Ensure all training programs comply with applicable industry standards, regulations, and accreditation requirements, particularly those relevant to healthcare.
  • Facilitate classroom-based and virtual training sessions, ensuring an interactive and impactful learning experience.
  • Track the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
  • Stay current with the latest trends in learning and development, healthcare industry best practices, and relevant technologies. Continuously enhance training strategies and materials to improve learning outcomes.
  • Work closely with HR, department heads, and leadership teams to align training programs with organizational goals and employee development needs.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning by promoting knowledge-sharing, leadership development, and skill-building initiatives across the organization.
  • Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of onboarding programs to ensure new employees have a strong, engaging, and supportive start at North Central Health Care.
  • Encourage staff participation in training programs by developing initiatives that highlight the value of learning and professional growth.
  • Partner with departments to ensure formal training programs align with on-the-job training and competency demonstration requirements.
  • Collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts to integrate training into daily workflows and validate skill application.
  • Create job aids, reference materials, and other learning resources to support continuous learning and on-the-job performance, ensuring employees have access to practical, just-in-time support.

 

What You Bring:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in learning and development, training, or organizational development, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training methodologies.
  • Experience in designing and delivering both in-person and virtual training sessions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in using Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning authoring tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

 

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, Education, Licenses, Certifications and Requirements:

  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards is preferred.
  • Certification in Training and Development (e.g., ATD, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment or similar regulated industry.

  • The pay range for this role is $61,000 - $67,000, based on education and experience.
  • This job is full-time and in person.
