What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety & Security Officer position at NCHC?
The Opportunity:
The Safety & Security Officer (SSO) is responsible for the day-to-day operation of North Central Health Care’s Security Program under the guidance of the Safety and Security Supervisor and Safety and Security Manager. The SSO is expected to work free from direct supervision and to be able to handle and respond to normal problems and questions that arise during daily operation.
$20.60 - $22.66 per hour based on experience plus extra $1 per hour shift diff for PM and NOC shifts.

What You’ll Do:
- Provide Person Centered Service in all interactions.
- Monitoring and rounding of NCHC grounds related to security issues and prevention
- Onsite and remote monitoring of NCHC camera system
- Response to safety and security events
- Collaboration with law enforcement and NCHC leadership for security related issues and events
- CPI training for NCHC staff
- Code response and staff meetings for education related to security issues
- Door checks and locking/unlocking for controlled access to NCHC facilities
- Assists with new admissions when needed for NCHC campus with focus on behavioral issues
- Responsible for overall condition of the security office
- Assists with regulatory matters with guidance from NCHC leadership
What You Bring:
- One to three years of relevant field experience, with 3-5 years preferred.
- Preferred knowledge of verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques
- Reliable attendance and transportation
- Passion for working with a diverse population.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
What You’ll Get:
- $20.60 - $22.66 per hour based on experience plus extra $1 per hour shift diff for PM and NOC shifts.
- Full-time and part-time positions open. The shift is 6:00am-6:00pm on 2-2-3 schedule.
