What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cal Trans Job Coach (Part Time) position at NCI Affiliates?
Welcome to NCI Affiliates! We are an established non-profit that helps adults who have disabilities through a variety of programs. We are now hiring a dedicated Job Coach to execute a contract our agency has with Cal Trans providing supported employment and job training to individuals served in our programs.
The role starts Part Time, 2 days per week with 9 hour shifts (8 AM to 5 PM). Potential to move to Full Time quickly! Paid lunches and overtime after 8 hours.
Summary
Job Coach is responsible for providing training and support to individuals participating in the Supported Employment Program. The Job Coach is expected to ensure the long-term success and expedite the work training experience of the Individuals’ served.
Qualifying Specifications:
- Previous experience working with developmentally disabled adults preferred
- Janitorial experience is preferred
- Must have own vehicle
- Maintain a current California driver’s license
- Provide on-going proof of current state required auto insurance
- Must have an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by the Agency’s insurance carrier
- Must clear background check screening
- A high school education or equivalent is required
Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Necessary for this position are compassion, patience, good communication, resourcefulness, and the ability to make sound decisions. Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize workload. Strong English oral and written communication skills are required. Reading, writing, basic math skills, attention to detail for extended periods of time, repetition, problem solving, and the ability to motivate others.
Physical Requirements:
Essential functions of this position require that employees regularly sit, stand, bend, twist and walk. Employees may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
