Job Summary:
The Carrier Sales Representative plays a critical role in maintaining and expanding relationships with carrier partners. This individual will identify, onboard, and manage carriers to meet the needs of NCMC Freight’s customers. The role requires proactive communication, problem-solving, and negotiation to ensure shipments are completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrier Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners.
- Negotiate rates and contract terms to maximize profitability while ensuring carrier satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
- Freight Management:
- Source, onboard, and qualify carriers to meet customer requirements.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
- Collect PODs (Proof of Deliveries) from carriers and ensure proper documentation for completed shipments.
- Proactively address delays or disruptions and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Market Analysis & Strategy:
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and capacity shifts.
- Develop competitive pricing strategies to maintain a balance between cost and service quality.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities to grow the carrier network.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the Customer Sales team to align carrier capacity with customer demand.
- Maintain accurate records of carrier interactions, pricing agreements, and shipment details.
- Provide timely and effective communication to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in carrier sales, logistics, or freight brokerage (preferred).
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
- Knowledge of dry van, reefer, flatbed, and/or drayage logistics is a plus.

Salary : $45,000 - $65,000
