Job Purpose:
National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Digital Enterprise Project Subject Matter Expert to join our team. NCMS is the nation’s leading technology consortium that accelerates the development and adoption of cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities to drive American c competitiveness.
The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive technical support for the NCMS Digital Testing Ground (DTG) and Digital Proving Ground (DPG). These are AWS GovCloud environments used to provide value to certain projects NCMS manages. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Essential Functions:
Project Preformation Support:
- Provide technical support for all DTG or DPG-related inquiries during the project preformation process. This requires a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and the DTG and DPG architecture.
Solution Architecture:
- Collaborate with project teams to architect solutions that meet project needs while ensuring security and other requirements
Project Cost Analysis:
- Work with ISVs, project teams, and Managed Service Provider (MSP) to determine project costs, including ISV software and services costs, MSP professional services costs for environment creation and provisioning, MSP monitoring costs, and AWS infrastructure costs.
Project Formation Support:
- Assist the project formation team in creating Concept Papers and other necessary documentation.
Project Turnover:
- Complete project turnover packages for both the project preformation team and DE operations.
Meeting Participation:
- Attend and support project kickoff meetings, project status meetings, and project working meetings.
- Participate in weekly MSP meetings to maintain accountability, provide input and direction, and ensure key metrics are achieved.
Project Management Support:
- Support the Project Manager with the creation of Statements of Work (SOW) and any other Digital Enterprise needs.
- Provide technical support to project teams on instance types, containers, security, and other related topics.
NCMS Digital Enterprise Webpage Content Management:
- Support the NCMS Digital Enterprise webpage team by researching and proposing strategic content.
Competitive Analysis:
- Build and maintain a one-pager highlighting the benefits and differences of the DTG and DPG.
- Learn and document the cloud digital engineering environment competitive landscape.
Requirements:
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain government security clearance.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless legally exempt.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in project management and a technical support role.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in cloud services, particularly AWS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
