Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Sales Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the industrial/manufacturing segment and be capable of providing comprehensive support to one of our largest distributors/customers. This role involves a mix of technical expertise, customer interaction and some testing of products for our development team. Strong knowledge of working in a high pace manufacturing facility is preferred.
Key Responsibilities: (85% Time Spent)
- Provide strong technical support and expertise to our customer's organization and individual production lines.
- Conduct product line trials and testing at the facility with newly developed or adjusted products as needed & provide a technical report back on the work.
- Develop solid relationships with all the line supervisors and management.
- Do periodic line audits to ensure processes are followed and products are performing at their best.
- Deliver training sessions as needed for new employees or when a new product is being introduced.
- Provide weekly reports to the Technical Manager and Account Manager on site activities .
- Actively participate in team meetings to share insights and strategies as required.
Key Responsibilities(cont'd): (15% Time Spent)
- Provide technical support to our product users in collaboration with the distributor.
- Offer onsite support for demonstrations and product testing.
- Conduct training, setup, and all necessary technical work to ensure successful onboarding of new customers.
Additional Duties (as needed):
- Provide technical support to other markets when required.
- Collaborate with internal R&D to address market needs, conduct product testing, and offer technical feedback.
- Assist other sales personnel and markets from a technical standpoint.
Travel Requirements:
- Primarily within Eastern Ohio.
- Limited North America support, as needed.
- Air Travel required for trips exceeding 6 hours by car, with exceptions as necessary.
Safety:
- Adhere to and promote our safety rules.
- Follow all safety rules of our customer facilities.
- Encourage and implement good safety practices with customers.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of the industrial coatings segment.
- Proven experience in technical support, product installations, and customer training.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel extensively, as required.
- Computer skills with basic Outlook and Microsoft Office products.
