The Product Manager will lead a subset of NCQA's evaluation programs, owning one or more products from development to launch as well as managing the evolution of several in-market products. Programs may include but are not limited to Utilization Management Accreditation, Credentialing Product Suite, and Population Health Product Suite. The role involves cross-functional collaboration for product development, enhancement, launch, and pricing. Maintaining product backlogs and roadmaps based on customer feedback and regulatory alignment is essential.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Product Manager will be expected to conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities that can drive product innovation and growth. They will work closely with various teams to effectively promote and position the products in the marketplace. The role also requires engaging with stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, and regulatory bodies, to gather insights and ensure that the products and enhancements meet their needs and expectations.
Furthermore, the Product Manager will oversee the creation of detailed product requirements and specifications, ensuring that development teams have a clear understanding of what needs to be built. They will also monitor the progress of projects and address any issues or challenges that arise to keep them on track. Responsibilities:
Product Management
- Develop and maintain product backlogs and roadmaps informed by ongoing customer engagement and state/federal regulations.
- Work on the complete product lifecycle from formation to development to delivery and execution, ensuring end-to-end commercial success of the assigned evaluation programs.
- Serve as the go-to expert on the product.
- Ongoing customer and stakeholder conversations, documentation and analysis around product value, effectiveness, implementation challenges, and improvement opportunities
Product Development (New and In-Market)
- Ideation and concept validation, business case development, and business planning.
- Gathering voice of customer (VOC) and presenting product ideas to advisory groups and leadership teams to obtain feedback and refine the product.
- Lead the product design, support of content development, and support of implementation throughout all stages of the product life cycle.
Go-To-Market
- Conduct market insights and competitive assessments.
- Develop value propositions, TAM/SAM/SOM and market segmentation, messaging, and pricing models/strategies.
- Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.
- Generate product buy-in with key stakeholders and drive customer adoption and partnership for programs.
- Hands on support with product proof point demonstration (through presentations, blogs, articles, collaboration with marketing, etc.)
Requirements:
- Master's degree
- 4 years of experience in relevant health policy development or product management role

Compensation & Benefits:
- For new hires, this position pays in the range of $80K - $90K per year, depending on experience.
