The Scrum Master will guide and facilitate the team in adopting agile practices, ensuring the effective application of agile methodologies, and fostering a high-performing team environment. The Scrum Master is responsible for removing impediments, promoting continuous improvement, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality data and software solutions.Setting Up Sprint CadenceTo transition the team from IT to software development, it's essential to establish a sprint cadence that aligns with agile principles. Here’s a plan to set up the sprint cadence : First, define the sprint length that works best for your team, typically 2-4 weeks. This allows for regular feedback and adjustments. Schedule sprint ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Align sprint schedules across teams to facilitate coordination and integration, and share the schedule with all team members and stakeholders. Regularly refine the product backlog to ensure that it is up-to-date and prioritized, helping in planning and executing sprints effectively. Use tools like Jira or Confluence to track progress, manage tasks, and visualize the sprint backlog.Building Agile PracticeBuilding an agile practice involves fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and transparency. Here are some steps to build an agile practice : Educate and train the team on agile principles, methodologies, and tools. Establish clear roles such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Development Team members, ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities. Create an Agile Community of Practice where team members can share knowledge, best practices, and experiences. Implement agile tools like Jira, Confluence, and other collaboration tools to manage work, track progress, and facilitate communication. Regularly assess the team's agile maturity and identify areas for improvement, using tools like the Agile Maturity Tool to measure progress and implement improvements.Key Responsibilities : Facilitate the adoption of agile practices within the data science, data engineering, and software engineering team.Remove and manage team impediments to enable the team to deliver value.Ensure the team adheres to agile values, practices, tools, and rules.Assist the Product Owner with planning, change management, and product backlog maintenance.Work with the team to estimate and refine all work adhering to Agile Best Practices.Establish cadence and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.Coordinate cross-team dependencies and risks.Enable the team to execute iteration planning, iteration demonstrations, and retrospectives leading the teams to productive outputs and actions.Actively participate in product planning sessions, risk management processes, and change management / communication.Qualifications : Proven knowledge and experience with agile methodologies, values, and procedures.Experience in an agile environment in other roles, such as engineering, development, quality assurance, product owner, or as an agile coach.Scrum master experience in a complex large-scale enterprise.Familiarity with data science, data engineering, and software engineering concepts and practices is a plus.Offers of employment are conditional upon passage of screening criteria applicable to the jobEEO StatementIntegrated into our shared values is NCR Voyix’s commitment to diversity and equal employment opportunity.
