NCTA seeks a Presentation Designer who will be responsible for designing and crafting visually compelling presentations. Creating high-quality decks that transform raw content and ideas into polished, goal-driven visuals that tell a cohesive story. Ensure consistency with the NCTA’s style guide while leveraging a well-rounded understanding of design principles and processes.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborates with subject matter experts and stakeholders to understand presentation goals, content, and target audience and messaging; manages the presentation design process from start to finish.
- Digests complex information and ideas, identifies core messages, and brings them to life in a logical and compelling way. Works with presenters to deliver polished presentations and guide them in becoming better storytellers.
- Selects and implements appropriate imagery, typography, color palettes, layouts and animations that aligns with messaging and deliver impact.
- Creates presentations that keep the audience engaged and anchored in the story arc. Uses powerful imagery, a well-crafted narrative, and thoughtful animation to inform, educate and persuade audiences.
- Partners with colleagues, executives, and teams to create presentations that align with brand identity and simplify complex ideas. Integrate feedback to ensure a seamless final product.
- Continuously explores creative techniques and tools to deliver high-quality and impactful presentations for executive and high-profile communications.
- Leverages AI tools and new technologies to enhance efficiency and creativity of presentation design.
- Researches and pitches fresh ideas to the team to improve storytelling and presentation impact.
- Manage projects from start to finish, often under tight deadlines, while incorporating changes and feedback from multiple stakeholders.
- Creates thematic art for digital signage, virtual backgrounds and sets, experiential digital exhibits, and panoramic images, graphic animations and videos for NCTA’s Advocacy Space and presence at externa; events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Background/Skills/Abilities Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in presentation design, storytelling, graphic design, or related roles.
- Extensive experience in Keynote, PowerPoint, and other presentation engines and platforms. Facility with Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design tools. Experience with AI design platforms is a significant plus.
- Proficient in navigating a Mac-based work environment
- Strong visual design skills, including typography, layout, and color theory.
- Able to work well within a highly collaborative team environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines. .
- Flexibility to work occasionally night and weekend, with advance notice.
- Strong communication skills to present and articulate design concepts effectively.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders to refine messaging and achieve presentation goals.
- Must have a portfolio showcasing storytelling through presentation design

Hybrid Work Schedule
NCTA currently operates on a hybrid schedule. All hires are expected to work in the office located in Washington, D.C. In-office days are Tuesday - Thursday, with additional days as needed in the role.
