The Transportation Department of the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is seeking a Transportation Funding Analyst on the Transportation Funding team to provide technical and/or public administrative support for programs and projects. The Transportation Funding team facilitates and manages the selection and implementation of transportation projects within the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The team monitors a portfolio of over $30 billion in projects. At NCTCOG, you will be part of an innovative and award-winning Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) that serves the fourth largest metropolitan area in the United States. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assisting with the development of the regional funding document for projects and programs
- Assisting with data entry, and working with supervisor to maintain database quality and ensure data accuracy
- Working with supervisor to evaluate project submittals for funding consideration
- Working with supervisor to research project histories and provide initial and follow-up analyses to team members and/or regional partners for project inquiries
- Supporting project tracking efforts to ensure the timely implementation of transportation projects
- Drafting for supervisor review, responses to inquiries received from elected officials, local governments, and the general public
- Working with supervisor to schedule regular/cyclical meetings, draft agendas, and prepare handouts
- Drafting for supervisor review, correspondence, documentation, and reports
- Assisting with the analysis of project listings
- Drafting presentations for supervisor review, with the opportunity to deliver presentations to staff and committee members
Required Skills
- Good communication, both verbal and written, with the ability to listen to and follow instructions, coordinate with team members, and present ideas
- Good critical-thinking skills
- Good data-entry skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Detail oriented, highly organized, with an ability to manage multiple assignments/tasks and work well in a deadline-driven environment without diminishing quality of work
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in analytical, quantitative methods (i.e., business or public administration, public policy, government/political science, urban/transportation planning, accounting, finance, geography or a related field)
- One year or less of work-related experience
Starting Salary Range
Minimum of $47,618.00 - $57,141.60 annually

NCTCOG also serves as a designated recipient for Federal Transit Administration funds.
