What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Advance Practice Provider position at ND Dept of Corrections and Rehabilitation?
Summary Of Work
Conduct psychiatric evaluations; construct psychiatric and medical histories; determine priority of psychiatric and medical treatment; initiate psychiatric treatment including prescriptions for medication; provide preventative mental health care, education, individual supportive and crisis related counseling or intervention to an inmate population; provide written documentation of treatment service, provide consultative service to other staff; may be required to perform various other duties commonly assigned to positions at this level and within the scope of practice.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), or Equivalent with prescriptive authority by the North Dakota Board of Nursing, or registration in another state and eligibility for licensure in North Dakota. Licensure is a condition of employment.
Must successfully complete interview, standard background and criminal records check.
Two Years of PMHNP or Equivalent NP experience in Mental Health
Two years in Corrections and or Law Enforcement or State Facility
